Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package.

I just installed my first Joomla 1.5 after using 1.0.x for a few years. I thought I'd make sure I had a clean install and tried Joomla Diagnostics. When I tried to install it, I got the message, "Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package." so it was unable to install the package. I re-downloaded your package and tried again but to no avail. Any ideas?

Joomla 1.5.10
Joomla Diagnostics 1.5.9

you can't install joomla diagnostics..
it's a tool you upload to the root of your joomla site, and then point your browser to it.

still need to update it for Joomla 1.5.10 though..

Hi,

I get the same message error : Could not find an XML setup file in the package when i try to update my jommla 1.5.14 to 1.5.17 with patch in zip file.
I don't understand why he doesn't want to update?(i try to do it from the backoffice ,is that the reason why?)
